Volunteer Opportunities

We are always looking for new volunteers to join our dynamic feminist team. Volunteers of the Mokami Status of Women Council are provided with free training which inlcudes but is not limited to:
-Feminism 101
-Trauma Informed Practice
-Diveristy, Inclusion and Belonging

We have volunteer opportunities to match many interests. Some of our current opportunities include:
-Free arts and wellness programs
-Sorting donations for Thrifty Fashions
-Filling and delivering orders for our Women Helping Women program
-Answering phone/door
-Support with annual community events

Donations may be dropped off at the Women's Centre, 43 Grenfell St, from 10AM - 4PM, Monday-Friday.

Thrifty Fashions Donations

We gratefully accept donations of gently used clothing, linens and accessories. We ask that donations are clean and gently used. All profits from your contributions support the programs and services our Women's Centre offers to the community. You'll find the full list of items we accept (as well as items we do not accept and are unable to rehome) below.

Please ensure donated clothing is free of stains, rips, tears, holes, broken zippers and missing buttons.

Donations we accept:

Clothing for all ages and genders
Outerwear
Footwear
Handbags, wallets, knapsacks
Jewelry (excluding body jewelry)
New/unused socks and underwear
Costumes
Textiles such as curtains, tablecloths, and bedding (excluding pillows)
Books

We do not sell or take donations of:

Toys
Electronics
Sports equipment
Furniture or other household items
